Honouring Our Local Veterans

Honouring our veterans

We are committed to teaching our community, especially future generations, the incredible contributions and the role of many Canadians (including Billy Bishop) who sacrificed and served to preserve our freedom. It is our goal to help people remember, respect and honour the sacrifices that have been made by our military.

Each year the museum pays tribute to a group of area Veterans. Their biographic information is on display at the Heritage Mall December until early January. During this time, schools, groups and visitors have the opportunity to visit the museum and learn more about our local veterans through this display. It will then be on display in various venues in Owen Sound and Grey/Bruce Counties

We are still actively looking for Veterans to participate in our program. If you are a Veteran or know a Veteran that you would like to nominate for our Honouring Our Local Veterans Program, please print off a Veteranֺs Survey for them to fill in and return to the museum.
